The SOTHURA SAFE Analyzer, our own development for reading Swiss insurance documents · Last updated: August 2026
Reading a policy is not copy work, it is professional judgement: which cover applies, which sum is valid, which exclusion hides in the small print. The SOTHURA SAFE Analyzer takes the typing off your hands, not the judgement. It captures key data, coverages, sums and exclusions from the original document in structured form and tells you, for every single value, how solid it is.
Seven stages every value passes through before you get to see it.
First it is established which insurance is actually at hand, and that identification is cross-checked against the document instead of simply being accepted. A commercial liability policy is read differently from a motor policy; every line has its own field structure.
Key data, coverages, sums, deductibles, deadlines and exclusions are transferred into a fixed structure. Not as a prose summary, but as individual fields you can calculate and compare with.
Every value returned is held against the wording of the document. What cannot be found there does not pass as a confirmed value: this is the stage that catches an invented figure.
Does the value fit its field? A sum insured with one digit too many, a date outside the term, a deductible above the cover: such cases surface here without anyone having to look for them.
A policy often contains several coverages side by side. If two entries contradict each other across lines, at least one has been read wrongly, and both are marked instead of being quietly averaged.
On top of that, professional rules run: which entries belong together in this line, which exclude each other, which may never be missing on a Swiss policy.
At the end every value carries a reliability marker, and the open points are sorted by weight. You see first what deserves the most attention, not an alphabetical list.
How these stages work in detail is our trade secret. What they check is set out here. The figure "7+" is a lower bound: more checking passes are wired into the system, but not every one runs on every path. We would rather state the figure that is always correct than the largest one.
The machine prepares, the adviser decides.
Today in two modules, more to follow.
Stored in Zurich, analysed in Zurich; an EU location only when Zurich is at capacity.
Reliably enough to replace the typing, and honestly enough to say where it is not. Instead of a hit rate that helps nobody in the individual case, you get a reliability marker on every value. Confirmed values you accept, the few uncertain ones you check selectively. We deliberately give no accuracy percentage: it would vary widely by document quality, insurer and line of business, which makes it advertising rather than information.
It is marked as uncertain and moves to the top of the list instead of passing as a confirmed value. You see the spot, correct it with one click and do not have to go back into the PDF. A value that cannot be found in the wording of the document never passes as confirmed in the first place.
They are stored in a certified data centre in Zurich. The AI analysis runs in Zurich as well; only when that location is at capacity does it move to an EU location. Client, contract and document data is not transferred to the USA or other third countries. No model is trained on your data, the model provider stores nothing, and there is no human review.
Advisory responsibility stays with you. That is why the system is built so that you can exercise it: no value enters the file without your release, uncertain points are marked, and every correction you make overwrites the machine value. What ends up in the advisory documentation under art. 45 ISA is a state you have confirmed.
Because the method is our trade secret. What is checked is on this page, stage by stage; how those checks work stays with us. For your work the result is what counts anyway: that every value comes from your document, that uncertain values are marked, and that you decide.
Yes. Policies, offers and applications run through the same structure: that is the precondition for offers from different insurers to become comparable at all. What was captured in the analysis is available in the offer comparison, without anyone typing it a second time.
